Forrester Research of Cambridge, Mass., the average
cost of building a Web site is as follows:
Forrester defines a promotional site as one that advertises a company's products and services. A content site provides updated news, weather, or entertainment, while a transactional site provides interactive shopping, banking, or customer services. Programmers, designers, writers, customer service and marketing people account for one-third of the cost of a promotional site, and two-thirds of the cost for content and transactional sites.
